Smart People, Smart Content

Written by Alissa Doherty | Nov 16, 2015

Last week was a bit of a whirlwind for me starting as Citisoft’s new Director of Marketing & Communications. New job means new office, new computer, new colleagues, and a whole lot of reading to acquaint myself with Citisoft. Luckily, I have some practice in getting up-to-speed quickly, having spent a few years representing an evolving roster of clients in PR and marketing agencies. While I enjoyed the dynamism of working with many firms at once, the bulk of my experience has been on internal marketing teams in the fintech space. I love waving the flag for my company and getting to know the brand inside and out—something that isn't always possible on the agency side.

Other than my inclination to work in-house, joining Citisoft felt right for one key reason: smart people. I don't say this to earn brownie points with my new coworkers (although that would be nice) but because it is so critical to doing my job successfully.

One of my main goals at Citisoft is to ensure that we are part of the industry dialogue by producing quality content that helps our client do their jobs better. Thought leadership is where I have spent much of my time in the marketing world. In fact, my first job out of college was ‘thought leadership specialist’ at an agency broker (my parents were incredulous about what that role entailed). Whether or not it was a ‘real’ title, it was indicative of a new direction in the industry where content has become an integral part of a business’s value proposition.

Citisoft is a company full of thought leaders. As a consulting firm, we excel in finding smart people and thinking about challenges with both depth of experience and fresh perspective. As you might guess, smart people makes producing smart content a lot easier.

If you’re reading this blog, then you are already aware of some of the content we produce but part of my role will be ensuring that you are seeing the right content at the right time, whether that is here on our blog, through our Industry Perspectives, our comments on industry news, or in our email newsletter.

That said, I know information overload in the internet age is a very real challenge and I hope to help filter out the noise to reach our clients and peers through the channels that make sense for them. Please continue to check us out at www.citisoft.com/insights, and look for us on Linkedin, Twitter, and in industry publications. And if you’re struggling to keep pace (like me), be sure to check out tools like Feedly and LinkedIn Pulse to aggregate content that is meaningful to you.

If there are any topics you want to hear us talk about or questions about industry challenges, please feel free to reach out to me at marketing@citisoft.com and I will find the right expert to address it—well, once I learn everyone’s names…
